Iron is an important raw material used across a wide range of areas, such as buildings, railways and bridges. It is an essential material for the development of livelihood and the industry. Along with its versatility, the fact that it can be recycled makes it a valuable resource.
For more than a century, our company has contributed to recycling of resources and the development of the industry through selling steel and iron scrap.

We have 15 offices in Japan (six in the Kansai area and nine in the Kanto area), and three offices in the continental US (Texas, Los Angeles and New York), a total of 18 locations. While downsizing to match the market, whether at home or abroad, as a leading company in the collection, processing and sale of iron scrap, one of the raw materials in steelmaking, and as a reliable iron recycling business, we continue to contribute to innovation in the industry.

Activities in the Kansai area

Our company operates three specialized processing facilities—Osaka Branch, Higashi-Osaka Branch, and Yao Branch—each designed to meet diverse customer requirements through tailored processing capabilities. In addition, by integrating operational data across four key sites, including the Nanko Branch which handles non-ferrous scrap for export, we have built a streamlined logistics network that maximizes efficiency in both collection and shipment processes.
The Osaka Sales Department, based at our headquarters, plays a pivotal role in supporting procurement and sales activities across these branches. By leveraging our direct trading relationships with major steel manufacturers, we deliver high-value solutions that satisfy both suppliers and customers, while driving sustainable growth and operational excellence throughout the region.

Activities in the Kanto area

Centered around our Tokyo Bay and Ichikawa branches, which operate 24 hours a day, our branch network—including Saitama, West Tokyo, North Kanto, Utsunomiya, and the Funabashi Yard—is strategically positioned to leverage geographic advantages and provide full coverage across the Kanto region. This agile network enables us to build an optimized system for collection, processing, and shipment, ensuring a highly efficient production framework.
Our Tokyo Branch (Tokyo Sales Department) serves as a key hub for international business development. Through strong partnerships with FUWA METAL USA, Inc. and global trading companies, we maintain access to extensive overseas market intelligence and robust procurement and sales channels. By managing our own trade operations, we actively pursue international expansion—not only in ferrous scrap, but across a wide range of import and export opportunities.

Activities in the United States

In 2007, we established FUWA METAL USA, Inc. in the United States, a key player in the global market. Initially based in New York, the company began container-based shipments of ferrous scrap to various Asian countries, marking a significant shift in U.S. distribution practices.
Today, with its headquarters relocated to Texas, FUWA METAL USA leverages its nationwide network and strong relationships with local partners to gather market intelligence and respond swiftly to global trends. Through these efforts, we continue to lead new developments in the recycling resources sector, actively expanding our presence in the ever-evolving international marketplace.
